Our heartfelt thanks go to the Worshipful Company of World Traders for donating £1,500 to Olly’s Future. Mary Hardy, Master for 2021/22, presented the cheque to Emma Baars, CEO, and Ann Feloy, Chair.
She spoke with great affection about Olly, who was involved in the city Livery Company for four years from the age of 18 and was loved by all the members. Mary and her husband Mark Hardy set up the World Traders/Oliver Hare Cup at Christ Hospital School for the Best Musician of the Marching Band. The first winner of that award was Charlotte Suckling.
Olly was Drum Major at Christ’s Hospital School and led the marching band at national events, such as the Lord Mayor’s Parade. The prize is presented by the Lord Mayor of London every year. In the past, Sue Huges from the World Traders helped organize the ‘Love and Light’ Party at the Tower Hotel, and additional fundraising paid for suicide prevention training at UCL. Mary, Mark, Sue, and all the members of the Worshipful Company of World Traders – we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support.
