Together with Start the Conversation, Olly’s Future has created a practical, skills-based 90 minute suicide prevention workshop specifically for the workplace. This training session will help colleagues spot the signs of someone who may be struggling with mental health and feeling suicidal. It will also equip staff with the vital knowledge of how best to help them.
A toolkit of 10 practical tools including:
We know that anyone can think of suicide, regardless of their job title or bank balance, and that around 5% of people (1 in 20) are thinking of suicide at any time (Samaritans).
We also know that suicide is the leading cause of death of young people aged 20-34 (ONS) and that almost 3⁄4 of people who died by suicide had no contact with a health professional in the year before their death (Mental Health Foundation).
Mental health is seemingly being discussed more openly than ever before. And yet, Olly’s Future found that nearly 80% of young professionals believe there is still a stigma attached to telling others about their mental health at work.
The Pressure of Success is therefore part of much-needed culture change, to create healthier workplaces where employees feel able to bring their ‘whole selves’ to work.
The workshop is most beneficial for groups of 16 people or less, to allow for meaningful practice and discussion.

We’ve reflected heavily on the events of the past two weeks that have highlighted the structural racism still rife throughout society. This has sparked constructive dialogue at Olly’s Future around ways we can better address and embed diversity and inclusion initiatives in our suicide prevention work.
