Ensuring our GPs know how to talk about suicide to their patients is crucial. Our wonderful trainers recently visited Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington, Kent, to deliver Talking about Suicide: 10 Tools (TAS:10) to trainee and newly qualified GPs.
The London Borough of Bromley invited us to deliver this training as part of their Bromley GP Registrar Programme, an innovative scheme providing the fundamental foundations required to become a competent and confident General Practitioner.
Olly’s Future delivers suicide prevention training to practising clinicians as well as to medical students and future healthcare professionals, such as nurses and paramedics.
Ann Feloy, Olly’s Future founder and CEO, said:

Our belief is that if we can embed the learning while our future doctors and other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, are still studying, they will be better equipped and confident to help their future patients. Talking about Suicide: 10 Tools (TAS:10) was created by Ann Feloy of Olly’s Future, in memory of her son, and Rose Rowkins of Start the Conversation. It has been delivered to NHS Trusts as well as to medical schools and universities across the UK for over five years, with almost 10,000 participants trained in ten practical tools around suicide.
