We are offering free online suicide prevention training for Rugby Clubs and Football Clubs in West Sussex on Tuesday 21st July 2026 from 6.30 to 8pm
Anyone connected to a football or rugby club in West Sussex can sign up – players, coaches, club leadership and family members aged 18+.

Men account for 75% of all suicides, and it is the leading cause of death for men under 50. Men can find it difficult to talk about feelings of not coping, and are often reluctant to seek help.
Friends, family members and team-mates will often be the ones to spot that someone is struggling. However, talking about mental health, and especially suicide, can feel daunting. They may worry about saying the wrong thing, causing offence or making things worse.
We know that having these conversations, however difficult, is the best way to keep people safe and even save lives. Indeed, shortly after a recent pilot session, one participant applied the learning in a real-life situation – drawing directly on the tools covered in the session.
Our CPD-certified TAS:10 training is currently available FREE of charge to all Rugby and Football Clubs in West Sussex thanks to funding from West Sussex County Council and WASPS Legends Charitable Foundation.
The 90-minute online training will give you tools and confidence to
- recognise signs of distress
- listen with empathy
- have safe conversations
- ask directly about suicide
- signpost to appropriate support
