The fabulous South Downs was the backdrop to a meeting between Dr Tim Fooks, High Sheriff of West Sussex, and Ann Feloy, founder of Olly’s Future charity, recently. Hardy walkers will be passing this very spot when they take on the 17 mile inaugural Worthing Five Peaks Challenge on Saturday, September 6th, raising money to help with the charity’s work in saving lives from suicide. The stunning five ‘peaks’ north of Worthing are Cissbury Ring iron age hillfort, Chanctonbury Ring, once site of a Roman temple, Chantry Hill, Black Patch and Highdown.
Tim worked as a GP for 30 years and is a great advocate of the charity’s programme Dr SAMS (Suicide Awareness in Medical Students) which teaches our future doctors, nurses and healthcare workers how to look after their own wellbeing, their peers and their future patients. The High Sheriff is appointed by the King.
